2012 Ford Mustang Boss Customized for Ford Auctions

We’ve all seen it, we all love it! The 2012 Ford Mustang Boss has an astounding 444 horsepower and a torque of 380 @ 4500 rpm. With its Hi-Po 032 V8 engine, this bad boy prowls like no other…did we mention 26 mpg (highway).

Well, an idea was developed by the renowned Ford designer Melvin Betancourt after suffering through open heart surgery and having a nice recovery. After this incident, Betancourt felt compelled to design a special, one-time only Ford Mustang that would benefit charity. This was done in appreciation for his doctors, as they had just saved his life!

“There are gifted people out there who have been given the ability to do what they do,” said Betancourt. “I’m here because of them.”

So they set out and created the Boss 302 Laguna Seca, which was assembled at the Ford Mustang plant in Flat Rock, MI. The car was meant to resemble that of the Parnelli Jones race cars made popular in the 70s. Back then, Parnelli won the race in his Ford Mustang Boss (yellow of course), winning the Trans-Am Championship.
The 2012 version is of course, the same style of yellow and has the familiar hockey stick type stripes. It bears Parnelli’s name and number 15 from his racing days. And it wouldn’t be complete without a nice signature from Jones himself!

The funds raised at the auction benefits the Heart & Vascular Institute located at Detroit’s Henry Ford Hospital. This 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca, weighing in at 444 horsepower will surely get everyones hearts pumping.
